Today will see one of my favorites DIY charming and rustic weddings at Banff Park Lodge.

Just how rad are the invites above? This wedding is undeniably filled with charm and character. Captured by one of our featured Love List members, Sarah Vaughan Photography, this rustic DIY wedding is filled with endless details thanks in part to wedding planner Naturally Chic. One of my favorite materials to work with is kraft paper, so it’s no surprise I’m in love with the stitched seating cards and of course, the sweet pom poms. Congrats Kathy & Dave!

Says Sharon of Naturally Chic: A color palette of green and blue was chosen to mirror the colors of nature found in the trees and lakes. Kathy chose to use grey and yellow as accent colors (in the table runners and patterned paper used for the cookie favors) to add a fresh, modern twist.

The couple Kathy and Dave decided to marry in the beautiful Rocky Mountain town of Banff, Alberta because they are avid hikers and enjoy being in the mountains as much as possible. The couple’s inspiration for their décor came from a desire to keep their wedding day as natural and eco-friendly as possible while expressing their personalities. As a result, they decided to DIY many of the décor elements. The couple saved wine bottles to use for their centerpieces, made their own table runners from burlap and fabric, and printed their escort cards on kraft paper. Practically all of the décor was handmade (and of course recycled after the wedding). With the help of family and friends dozens of tissue paper poms were “fluffed” the evening before their wedding!

The couple wanted to incorporate personal touches throughout the wedding and chose to have a cake buffet for dessert. They chose fun toppers for each of the cakes and their favors were cookies baked by the bride (the cookie recipe was a “knock-off” from a cookie they had tasted on a trip to New York and had become the couple’s favorite cookie).
