Let us go to the Charming Outdoor Wedding in Ontario from MIMMO & CO. We have some nice memories from this wedding.
Totally in love with the charm of today’s outdoor wedding captured by MIMMO & CO . Held at the Mansfield Outdoor Centre in Ontario, the entire event was definitely a labour of love including flavored pickle favors, handmade floral arrangements and screenprinted stationery. Andrea and Ryan wanted “a perfect summer day in the country with a dash of the 50′s, blue, yellow, white, with touches of red, gingham, mason jars, burlap, etc.”, and indeed they did just that. Gingham just might be my next latest obsession. Enjoy.

We had the venue including 15 cabins for the whole weekend which allowed for a lot of guests to come and stay for the whole weekend and in turn made the whole weekend one big moment! A lot of our family and friends really got to know each other over the course of the weekend and everyone helped out doing various things to bring the day together for us. It was great to spend that time with everyone and then sit down and share a meal together on what turned out to be a perfect summer night! It was a great weekend punctuated by many great moments, the ceremony, the dinner, dancing under the stars, someone dancing with my sister’s dog under the stars (!?), campfires, swimming, late-night poutine!
I’m a graphic designer by trade so it made sense to design and print the stationary ourselves, and it was a lot of fun! The design of the stationary was based on the style of type you would find on antique tins and the wedding website followed suit. The place settings were dyed with tumeric and tea to create different shades of yellow and then we used a typewriter to imprint names, tables numbers, and “i love…” statements to play off the RSVP card. Most were the guest’s meal preferences but we slipped in a few fun ones, “i love to dance”, “i love long walks on the beach”, “i love bon jovi”. I had initially bought the typewriter for the guestbook but it got used for a variety of different things leading up to the wedding; the fabric toppers for the pickle jars for our favours, our table numbers, and labels for the jugs of lemonade.
Guests were treated to a variet of pickles that were made by the bride + groom and family (lemon pickles, dilly beans, dill pickles, spicy slices, bread n’ butter). YUM!
Advice for future couples planning their wedding: I know it is cliche, but it is very true that a wedding goes by really quickly, so at some point in the day take a second to step back look around and savour it; and don’t skimp on wedding photography, it is an investment and a good photographer has a distinct eye and can capture the moments you don’t notice because you’re in the midst of it all. One of my absolutely favourite photos from our wedding is of Ryan’s 94-year old grandfather dipping into pickle jars on his table before dinner, we hadn’t had a chance to make the announcement that they were the wedding favours before he tasted every one on his table!
