Royal Botanical Gardens Wedding from Janice Yi Photography

Excited to start off the week with a lovely wedding captured by  Janice Yi Photography. So many details make this wedding memorable. For me, it’s undeniable the dress, the colors and the wedding ceremony. The bride wore a vintage-inspired lovely white gown and bridesmaids were covered in two shades of lavender. Another sweet touch was the fact that the groom and groomsmen in a light grey coat with a soft lavender shirt and lavender tie.

Emily & Mitchell’s Royal Botanical Gardens Rock Garden wedding was a DREAM. Did I mention it was a brunch wedding? Yup. Any Emily’s dress had pockets (as all dresses should!!). Annnnnd Emily wore rose gold Nike’s all day (the BEST idea). Nothing brings me greater joy than seeing couples do their wedding day the way THEY want to. Want a brunch wedding? Go for it. Want 500 people at your wedding? Do it! Want 20 people at your wedding? Yesss! Want to skip the wedding party? Great idea. Or do you want to have a wedding party? Awesome! It’s your wedding day, you can do whatcha want with it, and I’ll be there by your side snapping away to remember it. It really doesn’t matter if you do what ‘everyone else’ is doing (who is ‘everyone else’ anyway?) or not. What matters most is that you love your partner and you’re celebrating committing your lives to one another, the rest is up to you to decide how to celebrate!

Emily & Mitchell were deep in love for each other and it shows! This was a beautiful wedding day inside and out, and truly an opportunity to document it.

Now as per our ritual, let’s move to another wedding…

Have you ever seen a dress that you’ve fallen in love with and wish you could reach out and touch it? Today’s dress is absolutely divine and it matches the beautiful classic wedding held at the boutique Nita Lake Lodge in Whistler, British Columbia. Captured by Tallevi Studios, the green, and the purple color combination is a refreshing palette and you can’t help but fall in love with the intimacy of the single table where guests were surrounded by candlelight. Enjoy!

A chance meeting on a train in Toronto is how this couple met. Searching for just the right venue for their wedding, they decided on a destination wedding in Whistler and the train station at Nita Lake Lodge was the perfect location. They carried their love of wine throughout the day, from the groom sabering a bottle of champagne after the ceremony to personalized corkscrews as favors. Beautifully elegant and understated, this wedding and everyone involved was a real treat to photograph.
